She's not as lively as you might think.
Ryan Reynolds sweetly trolled wife Blake Lively after the Gossip Girl actress unveiled her new beauty brand Blake Brown Beauty on July 31, quipping on his Instagram Story that he "just found out her last name is Brown."
In fact, the hair care company is named after Blake's father, Ernie Lively, who was born Ernest Brown but changed his last name after marrying her mom Elaine Lively in 1979.
But no matter what Blake goes by, Ryan is marvelously proud of his Lady Deadpool—with whom he shares kids James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, born in 2023—for working on the hair care company for the past seven years.
"I'm obscenely proud of this woman," the Deadpool & Wolverine star wrote. "The result is exactly what you'd expect of a hyper-obsessive, detail addicted, uncompromisingly quality control genius."
Blake, 36, admitted that her dedication to her "newest baby" Blake Brown Beauty "toggles between impressive and wtf took so long" as she worked meticulously—even "obsessively"—on developing the products, which launch in Target Aug. 4.
“Ever since I was a kid, through adolescence, early adulthood, motherhood, work, personal life, whenever, wherever, the single most identifiable part about me has always been my personalit— no? Not my personality? Oh… My hair,” Blake wrote in a July 31 Instagram post. “It’s my longest companion in life."
And as she put it, “Like any relationship, it’s healthiest when you take good care of each other.”
So, Blake created shampoos, hair masks, a dry shampoo and a mousse for the launch, with the goal of offering "red carpet performance" at an affordable price point.
"It was a beast to build," the A Simple Favor star continued. "But I couldn’t be prouder of what we created for you.”
Blake isn’t the only celeb to reveal her family's surprising surname. Read on for more celebrities who have come clean about their real names, too.
